Protect childhood before first use

This campaign supports prevention education, emotional and social skills, family guidance and early orientation so children and teenagers have more protective factors before substance use becomes a crisis.

THE APPROACH

Prevention reaches the child and the adults around them

The campaign is designed to support educational and family-based actions for children, teenagers, parents, caregivers, schools and community groups. The objective is not to frighten children; it is to build skills, communication and protective environments.

01

Age-appropriate prevention education

Clear conversations about substances, peer pressure, decision-making, risk situations and self-care using language appropriate to developmental stage.

02

Emotional and social skills

Self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication, asking for help, conflict management and healthier ways of coping with discomfort.

03

Parents and caregivers

Practical guidance on connection, boundaries, supervision, digital environments, warning signs and how to respond without destroying the relationship.

04

Early orientation

A route for families who notice concerning changes and need to understand what to do next before the problem becomes more severe.

WHAT A FAMILY CAN DO TODAY

Prevention is built through repeated everyday actions

  • Maintain regular conversations instead of waiting for a crisis.
  • Know your child’s friends, routines and environments without turning the relationship into constant interrogation.
  • Set clear, age-appropriate boundaries and apply them consistently.
  • Teach children to name emotions, ask for help and tolerate frustration.
  • Take meaningful changes in behavior, school functioning, sleep or social circles seriously.
  • Seek professional orientation early when the family is unsure how to interpret what is happening.
